North Sea Coffee

Coffee is a well loved drink here at Bryn Mor. We start our day with it and it fuels our adventures. Procrastination would be poorly done without the caffeine instigated spark. The process of brewing and making our drinks is special but its something about the relaxation that surrounds the cafe culture which really appeals to us.

The Scandinavians do it best. According to coffeeaffection.com:

It serves as a way to meet people, connect with people, and connect with oneself. In Nordic coffee culture, coffee is much more than a drink.”

We love this mentality. Coffee is the linchpin of drinks. It is the glue that binds us. Have I got over excited? Maybe, but it’s the simple things in life which are sometimes the most important. Simple things such as a coffee by the ocean. North Sea Coffee can provide that very thing.

Let me just state that this is NOT an advert. We just loved this coffee shop when we visited and we really want to share it with you all.

Along the concrete promenade of Cromer beach sits a tiny building nestled in between the RNLI, a beach cafe and alongside fishing boats being pulled by rusty, well-used tractors. In this pocket-sized building is North Sea Coffee Company. A small independent coffee company on the Norfolk coast. The food is all local and very tasty. We had the cinnamon oat cookies which were so good! From 2017 they have been serving the local community as well as delighting tourists visiting the seaside town throughout the year.

The shop and its outdoor seating is very exposed to the North Sea air so blankets and even a hot water bottle can be provided for you to be able to sit in comfort and enjoy your time of contemplation without freezing! We sat for a while with a blanket under our bums and one wrapped around the dog. The sea wall sheltered us from the wind as we watched the waves crash onto the rocks lining the shoreline. The oceanic orchestra soothed us as we warmed ourselves with their sumptuous coffee and cakes. When we were finished we recycled our cups in their own recycling scheme and longed for a return.

In the evenings they occasionally host North Sea Nights where people can gather with cocktails in hand and listen to music all in the relaxing arena of the North Sea.

Working closely with other local companies and charities they are a hub of the community and if you’re ever in the area you must sample the atmosphere and of course their coffee.
