A Day at the Beach

It’s been a while since we’ve added anything to the journal. We’ve had parenthood, injuries and some other unforeseen events thrown at us.

It’s been a while since we’ve been to Borth y Gest. Joe spent his early years there and the hidden beaches and coves are so spectacular and really special to us.

We climbed down the cliffs leaving the coast path behind and ventured onto the golden sands. The water was so tranquil and clear. Tiny fish flitted around in the shallow pools whilst gulls soars over our heads. The coastal songbirds flew in and out of the gorse nestled in the slate slabs which framed the coves like a fort from the days of the Mabinogion.

There are few unspoilt and hidden secrets places along the Llyn Peninsula anymore but even though Borth y Gest is a popular tourist destination the beaches always seem so calm and quiet. This is probably due to the proximity of Morfa Bychan and Black Rock Sands around the headland.

We’d love sharing our favourite places with you and can’t wait to show you more in the next few months.
